The San Francisco 49ers pulled off a stunning 23–19 upset of the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Wild Card round on January 11, 2026.
A creative fourth-quarter trick play found Christian McCaffrey for a go-ahead touchdown, while Demarcus Robinson powered the 49ers offense with 111 receiving yards and a score. Despite a strong effort from Saquon Barkley and multiple interceptions by rookie Quinyon Mitchell, Philadelphia’s season ended earlier than expected.
With the win, San Francisco advances to face the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round.
